Overview:.

“Electrochemical Power Sources” joint stock company (ELIT JSC) develops and serially produces advanced capacitors with double electric layer (DLC) (Electrochemical capacitors, Supercapacitors, Ultracapacitors). They are able to start internal combustion engines (stationary and portable devices), and are used for car-audio and power quality applications. Voltage range is 12 – 1000 V, unique power and great service life.

Advantages:

- fast response (does not depend on value of discharge power). It reaches maximum power in 10-35 microseconds;

- high discharge power up to 5MW;

- connection to DC consumer without any intermediate devices;

- possible manufacturing of capacitor system that reliable operates at 1000V;

The progress to the market of a new type of current sources which solves problems of lack of capacity in any types of electrical networks is offered.

The electrochemical condensers (supercondensers, ultra condensers, condensers with a double electrical layer etc.) are new, intensively developed class of sources of current. The supercondensers occupy an intermediate position between traditional condensers and ARB. Unlike the first they have in 100... 1000 times large specific capacity. In comparison with AKB they have lower specific capacity, but in 10-100 times higher specific capacity.

Application: start-up of internal combustion engines; power - systems of energy quality, systematic alimentation; power saving - system recuperation of energy etc.
