CELTIC- Cooperation for a European Sustained Leadership in Telecommunications
CELTIC is a new European R&D Program in Telecommunications, initiated and led by Europe's large telecom vendors and operators, incl. Alcatel, Nokia, Ericsson, Thomson, FT, BT, Telefonica, Italtel & Telecom Italia. These companies manage the program through their representatives in the CELTIC Core Group and also participate actively in the program’s consortia. CELTIC provides an excellent opportunity for teaming up with these companies for technology and business alliances.
MATIMOP is the National Program Coordinator (NPC) in Israel. CELTIC operates within the EUREKA Program as a strategic cluster, focusing on the development of Integrated Communication System Solutions, including platforms and test vehicles. Israeli participants in Celtic projects may receive R&D grants from the Office of the Chief Scientist. In the first Celtic call which was concluded in January 2004, 30 Project proposals with a total budget of 200 MEuro have been approved for labeling. 10 Israeli companies are participating in 6 of these consortia.
